Sittingbourne and the surrounding villages have so much to offer this Christmas, so come along and enjoy the fun.



Free Christmas park and ride

In a change from previous years there will be no free parking this year as the council have instead opted to operate a free park and ride scheme from Meadowfield School, Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 4NL. 

The scheme launches on Small Business Saturday on 3 December 2016 and runs again on Saturday 10
December and Saturday 17 December. Bus services will run from 9am to 5.30pm with bus departures every fifteen minutes into the town centres and back.



The Big Switch On

This year big event is on Saturday 26th November starting at 10:00am through to 6:30pm

Come and join in the fun with stalls, entertainment, fairground rides, Santa’s grotto, lovely food and drink and explore the town’s shops. Stalls and Fairground will be trading from 10am and entertainment on the Stage in Central Avenue will start at 11am. Entertainment will include Dudes & Divas, Irish Dancing, Live Music and our lively compere and DJ Dave !

17:15 - Santa’s Parade will start at Wilkinsons

18:00 - The grand switch-on of the lights by Santa and the children from Kemsley Academy.

Saturday 19th November

Christmas Craft Fayre - Lower Halstow
13:00 - 15:00 Come along to St Margaret's Church Christmas Craft Fayre There will be a variety of craft stalls, homemade produce, jewellery, Wooden crafts, cards etc. Refreshments available

Christmas Holistic Craft Fair
11:00 - 16:00 There will be a Christmas Holistic Craft Fair at UKP Leisure Club with over 30 stalls including Mediums and Therapists, Henna and Kids Face Painting. 

Friday 25th November

Oaks Christmas Fair
19:30 The Oaks Infant School Christmas Fair. Tables are available for traders as well as for parents selling nearly new items

Saturday 26th November

Christmas Fair - Borden
14:00 - 16:00 Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto at Borden Parish Hall. Home made cakes and preserves, Bric-a-brac, Christmas decorations, toys, raffle and gifts. All proceeds to St Peter and Paul Church.

Salvation Army Christmas Fair
13:00 - 18:00 The Salvation Army will be hosting a Christmas fair on Saturday at the Crescent Hall off Central Avenue and in the United Reformed Church via the High Street.

Milstead Church Christmas Bazaar
12:00 - 14:00 Milstead Church will be holding a Christmas fair in Milstead village hall. There will be many stalls and refreshments. Entry 50p 

Bapchild School Christams Bazaar
10:00 - 12:00 There will be a Christmas Bazaar at Bapchild School

Sunday 27th November

Rodmersham Pre-School Christmas Fair
14:00 - 17:00 Rodmersham Pre-School Christmas Fair will be at Rodmersham Squash Club. You can meet Santa and his elves in his grotto, have a go on the grand raffle, Guess the weight of the cake, guess the name of Santa's bear, teddy tombola, bottle tombola, lucky dip, face painting, glitter tattoos, and lots more. Entrance is 50p per adult, children go free

Tuesday 29th November

Tinkerbells Christmas Fair - Iwade Village Hal
15:00 - 17:00 Many stalls including Bric 'a' Brac, Parents presents, Bottle Tombola, Teddy Tombola, Lucky Dip, Cake Stall, Guess the Weight of the Cake, Guess the Name of the Bear and many more to come! Festive Food Fair
10:00 - 14:00 Festive Food Fair at Tunstall Village Hall. Celebrate a Kentish Christmas. Come and buy local produce at Tunstall Christmas Food Festival. Local game: pheasants, partridge, wild duck and

10:00 - 15:00 There will be a bumper Christmas book and cake sale at Murston Church. Face painting, free children's Christmas crafts, bric-a-brac, records, CD's, video, tapes, audio books and hundreds of books to choose from. Drop in for a coffee, cake or a mince pie and a chat. All are welcome

Bapchild And Tonge Christmas Fair
11:00 - 16:00 Full of festive cheer come and view our range of stalls, visit our Santa's Grotto, have a hot or cold drink and view the Christmas Products on display as well as our festive facepainter. Located in the Village Hall, School Lane, Bapchild.

Sittingbourne Artisan Market
10:00 - 16:00 Sittingbourne High Street will be holding it's second Artisan Market with food, drink, local produce and crafts.




Concert and Carol Services


Saturday 26th November

Christmas Coral Society Performance
19:30 - Wolcom Yole a concert of carols and other Christmas Songs in St Mary's Church Upchurch. Entrance costs £5 (children free) with light refreshments afterwards. Welcome in the Christmas season and enjoy some audience participation carols as well.

Christmas Tree Lights
15:00 - You are invited to a festive sing along and to light up the Christmas tree on The Playstool. Open from 3pm the programme will continue at 4,15pm with the Borden Bell Ringers ringing the church bells. From 5.45pm you can sing along with member from SS Peter & Pauls choir as they sing a selection of carols and Christmas favourites. Don't forget to get a free raffle ticket to win the chance of switching on the Christmas tree lights at around 6.30pm

Christmas Cracker Concert
19:30 - Come and enjoy our festive fun carol concert a Christmas Cracker featuring the Sittingbourne Orpheus Choral Societywith Michael Burleigh and The Leon String Quartet conducted by Andrew Lowen. A concert of popular Christmas favourites. Full of festive cheer and yuletide fun with plenty of audience participation. Tickets £10. Children under 11 free students under 18 £5. Christmas Arrive 'n' Drive!
10:00 - 16:00 Whether you are an individual, group of friends or family or have a party of children to occupy, come and enjoy the thrill of Karting with us at Bayford Meadows on the 27th of December. Arrive anytime between 10am and 4pm, no pre bookings taken; it's just Arrive and Drive! The experience includes a full safety briefing and driving instruction so please allow at least 1 hour for a 30 minute driving session, or longer if you have time to enjoy our on-site Diner which overlooks the circuit. All at £30 per person for 30 minutes driving or £20 per person for 15 minutes driving. Bayford Meadows Kart Circuit.

Christmas Cup!
11:45 arrival - Our annual seasonal event for you to come and race against others - suitable for individual drivers or teams of 2 drivers. The event consists of a 10 minute practice/qualifying session followed by 2 x 20 minute races on our SuperPro 270 Karts. A great opportunity to get together with a few friends during the festive period, an ideal Christmas gift or book a place just for yourself and see how you do! The Swing 64 Club * Christmas Special

Thursday 24th - Sunday 27th November

St Michael's Christmas Tree Festival
10:00 - 16:00 (except Sunday when its starts at 12:00) St Michael's Church on the high street in Sittingbourne is holding it's third annual Christmas Tree Festival. Admission is free, refreshments will be available and there will be a raffle and a few stalls selling Christmas related items on both days. The fee for displaying a tree for businesses groups and individuals is £5, and for charities it is free of charge, phone 01795 410177.

Sunday 27th November

Christmas Tree Lighting Up Ceremony
16:30 - The 2016 Iwade Christmas Tree sponsored by Iwade Parish Council will be lit up at 4.30pm on Sunday 27th November 2016. The Iwade Can Sing choir will be singing and everyone is welcome. Note the road between Happy Days Nursery and the first junction with Sheerstone will be closed between 4 and 6pm on this day. Iwade Parish Council apologises for any inconvenience.

St Batholomews Christmas Tree Festival
With the success of the first ever Christmas Tree Festival in 2015, St Batholomews Church, Bobbing is repeating the event. The committee would like to invite local community groups to decorate a tree to reflect their group and local businesses to promote their company. This is a fundraising event to help pay for building work being undertaken at St Batholomews.
