The Maypole Inn
Nestling in the beautiful village of Borden you will find the quaint, family run pub ‘The Maypole Inn’.
Built in 1727, steeped in history and, even, some say where a murder took place.
This year will be the tenth anniversary that Kevin and Lesley Richards have been the proud proprietors, offering everyone who visits a warm and friendly welcome.
The Maypole is renowned for its traditional pub fayre, which often includes Daily specials, a variety of Homemade pies, Rabbit and Game dishes, all freshly made and locally sourced; but hurry if you want to taste these delights as they are very popular.
Sunday Roasts are also a ‘Maypole’ speciality, booking for this is strongly recommended.
Able to cater for Private events, Birthday Parties, Christenings, Weddings, Wakes, as well as Walking Groups and Clubs; (with a discount for parties of 10 or more).
With a capacity to seat comfortably up to 40; for larger groups and parties the lounge section of the pub is available for sole use, where we offer a selection of Hot & Cold buffets to suite your requirements.
Outside the pretty garden is also used to host various events, offering a Hog Roast for hire if you wish. There is a separate, purpose built ‘Petanque’ (French Boules) court, where the local team meet every other Wednesday. A small children’s play area, plus a good size car park.
Kevin prides himself on his good selection and quality of ‘Real Ales’ and Wines, alongside the lagers and ciders also available.
In the winter months ‘The Maypole’ is especially cosy with its two log fires continually lit in the cold weather to warm yourself by.
Why not come and visit and see for yourself, we look forward to welcoming you!
