Free Christmas parking in Sittingbourne

Free car parking in council-owned car parks is back this year. It applies only after 1 pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2nd to 24th December.

However, a parking voucher must be displayed on your dashboard, and displaying the voucher outside of these times will land you with a penalty notice.

Highsted Grammar School Christmas Fair
10:00 - 15:00 Highsted Grammer School is bringing back its traditional Christmas fair. There will be more than 30 stalls selling homemade cheeses, chutneys and crafts with refreshments. The Salvation Army and Kent Wildlife Trust are two of the charities with stalls. Girls will be selling Christmas gifts made by technology students. Admission is free.

Christmas Bazaar - Milstead Village Hall

10:00 - 12:00 Milstead Church is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar in Milstead Village Hall. Church Warden Joyce Whittaker said "it is particularly important this year for people to support us.  We are a tiny village but we have just had to spend £64.000 on essential roof repairs". The fair will include the usual stalls and a massive bric-a-brac room. Entry £1.

Tunstall Church Christmas Fair - Tunstall Village Hall
11:00 - 13:00 Tunstall's Church Christmas fair will be held at the village hall. There will be a raffle, tombola, book stall, choccy chance and many others

Christmas Fair at Sittingbourne Methodist Church
10:30 - 14:00 The Sittingbourne Methodist Church Christmas Fair will have some great gift ideas with lots of stalls and Christmas craft items available along with food and refreshments. Proceeds from the day will be going to church funds.

Lower Halstow Christmas Market - Memorial Hall
11:00 - 15:00 The Market will be opened by Father Christmas.  Indian food, jewellery, face painting, cards, African pottery, cakes and pies, mulled wine and mince pies and brunch.

Borden Christmas Fair - Borden Parish Hall

Phoenix House Christmas Fair -  Forum Shopping Centre
13:00 - 16:00 Phoenix House will be in the Forum Shopping Centre with their Christmas Fair for 2017. There will be homemade cakes, refreshments and Tombola, along with books, games and DVDs for sale. There will also be a 3D Snowflake Workshop between 2 and 3.30pm. All proceeds from the day going towards funding Sittingbourne's only centrally located community centre.

Candlelight Walk
15:00 - 19:00 Demelza Hospice Care for Children will hold its annual Candlelight Walk. Walkers will start from the Hospice in Rock Lane, Bobbing and follow a family-friendly route around the village. Back at the Hospice there will be carol singing, a festive market and Santa's grotto. This is a free event.

Santa Saturdays at the Forum Shopping Centre
The centre’s ‘Santa Saturdays’ will be returning for the second year, and feature face painters, arts and crafts sessions, choir performances, and of course special visits from Santa and his elves.

On Saturday 25th November the well-known Christmas Grinch from ‘Whoville’ will also be visiting The Forum throughout the day. Youngsters are challenged with the task of cheering up Mr Grinch and, if they succeed, will receive a sweet treat. There will be a free festive arts and crafts table available for little shoppers throughout the day where they can create Christmas gifts and cards for friends and family.

Steam Railway Santa Specials

Every Saturday and Sunday from 2nd to 23rd of December

Times 11:00 , 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00

The fare includes the roundtrip from Sittingbourne Viaduct station, departing on the hour, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. After the 15 minute journey to Kemsley Down, Father Christmas leads passengers to the Footplate Café where adults receive their seasonal refreshments and children visit Santa’s Grotto. One adult must accompany a child visiting Santa – the child will be able to choose a gift from a selection of quality toys. There will be some time afterwards to venture out and look around Kemsley Down where we have a shop, museum and garden railway. The train will return to Sittingbourne Viaduct station to complete the entire trip within two hours.
