Free Christmas parking in Sittingbourne

The Spirit of Sittingbourne will offer free parking at all car parks in Sittingbourne on Saturday 8 December Only, it has been announced. The move comes as an expression of gratitude to Sittingbourne residents for their patience during the roadworks.

Companionship at Christmas

Alone this Christmas, come and join Swale Community and Voluntary Services at Phoenix House with hot and cold food. Transport on request and all with no charge. Booking is essential.

Friday 30th November

The Oaks Infant School Winter Fayre
18.30 - 20:00 They will be Christmas eve boxes, sweets, stocking fillers, books, wooden crafts, scentsy, hampers, tree decorations, raffle, tombola, refreshments and much more. 50p entry fee per adult. Everyone welcome.

Saturday 1st December

Festive Food Fair - Tunstall Village Hall
10:00 - 14:00 Festive Food Fair at Tunstall Village Hall. Celebrate a Kentish Christmas. Come and buy local produce at Tunstall Christmas Food Festival. Local game: pheasants, partridge, wild duck and venison. Local free range pork, ham and prize-winning sausages. Canterbury Cheese, Christmas cakes, local honey and fudge. Delicious speciality sauces, preserves and chutneys. Christmas shopping made easy. Orders taken for turkeys and Christmas joints. Tunstall Village Hall.

A Newnham Christmas - The George Inn Newnham
15:00 - At the George Inn Newnham there will be a traditional Village Christmas with a mini festive Christmas market, Carol singing, festive food and drink and lots more. Starting at 3pm with a special touch at 6.30pm so make sure you are all here to see!
Newington Church Christmas Fair
There will be a Christmas fair at Newington Village Hall. There will be a large selection of stalls, Father Christmas will be paying a visit, refreshments including mince pies and live music.

Grove Park Christmas Bazaar
10:00 - 15:00 Come along and have some fun at our Christmas Bazaar!! Come and visit Father Christmas in his “Santa’s grotto” tickets sold at the entrance £2 each or 3 for £5. Performances by the Grove Park Choir. Children free - Adults 50p

Wednesday 5th December

Tunstall School Christmas Bazaar and Carols
17:00 - 20:00 Wrap up warm for a Christmas carol sing-a-long with the salvation army it may snow. Fun and games with making lanterns, lucky dip in Santa's chimney, guess the weight of the cake, name of the reindeer and what's in the stocking, refreshments and much more stalls. Visit father Christmas in his grotto.

Saturday 8th December

Holy Trinity Christmas Fayre
10:00 - 14:00 The Holy Trinity Church will be holding its annual Christmas Fayre in the Parish Hall. There'll be the usual stalls -- including tombola, cakes and preserves, and a 'Guess the weight of a cake' competition. Tickets for a Grand Prize Draw are available, and this will be drawn at 1PM on the day.

Iwade Village Food and Craft Fayre
10:00 - 13:00 There's a great range of local Produce and stalls in the market, so why not pop along and support your local market and village. The Iwade Village Food and Craft Fayre happens on the second Sunday of every month until the end of the year.

Christmas Craft Fair
10:00 - 14:00 Newington Village Hall are holding their Christmas Craft Fair to help raise money for The Pulmonary Hypertension Association and Macmillan Cancer Support. Sunday 2nd Decemeber

Traditional Advent Carol Service
18:30 St Michael's will be holding a Traditional Advent Carol Service with robed choir with seasonal refreshments. During the service there will be a collection for the this year's Advent Justice Appeal by Canterbury Diocese. Appeal funds will be shared between the Kent Winter Shelter Network, the Calais Chaplaincy and Christian Aid's work with refugees.

17:20 Join Bredgar Community Choir On Saturday December 8, to sing carols and songs around the village. The schedule is 5.20pm at the church, 5.30pm at Gore Road (opposite the pond) 5.40pm at Travers Gardens 5.30pm at Medlar Close ending at the Farm Shop Christmas Market at 6pm

Christmas Allsorts Carol Concert
19:00 Come and enjoy festive fun with Christmas Allsorts Carol Concert. Sittingbourne Orpheus Choral Society accompanied by pianist Michael Burleigh conducted by George Salmon. Cameo Christmas Capers
19:30 Tickets are available for Cameo Christmas Capers in Tunstall village hall. Essential Christmas entertainment includes carols, festive music and lots of fun in the traditional Cameo way. Visit Santa for free in the Forum
Santa’s grotto at The Forum Shopping Centre is free to visit and is open between 11am and 3pm every Saturday until 22nd December. All children who visit will receive a festive treat. Free children’s activities and a face painter will also be in the shopping centre every Saturday in the lead up to Christmas.

Christmas 1943
10:00 - 16:00 The Old Forge Wartime House presents Christmas 1943. There will be a small tea room where you can purchase tea, coffee and cake. Borden Xmas Tree Light Switch-On - The Playstool

Jack and the Beanstalk is coming to the Swallows Leisure Centre this Christmas -- a giant of a pantomime, full of beans and packed with 'Fee, Fi, Fo, Fun!'. 18:00 Every year, just before Christmas our Lights for Love Appeal provides a wonderful opportunity to come together and remember loved ones. It’s a chance to reflect and celebrate time spent together, leave a dedication to your loved one and make a donation to support the hospice. The events focus on remembrance, with readings, hymns, carols and refreshments afterwards.

Bobbing Christmas Tree Festival
10:00 - 17:00 All are welcome to come along and enjoy the Bobbing Christmas Tree Festival, taking place at Saint Bartholomew's Church between Friday 7th December and Sunday 9th December. There'll be hot and cold refreshments, stalls and children's activities available throughout the weekend, live musical entertainment on Saturday afternoon 1-4pm and a festive film after 5pm.

Christmas Tree Festival Tunstall Church
10:00 - 17:00 (ends 16:00 on Sunday) Over 100 trees created by talented groups and individuals will bring a smile to your face and hope to your heart. Admission is free but donations to the Church Fund/New Leaf Charity would be welcome. Car park and refreshments are available.

Candle Light Remembrance Service
14:00 Bournes of Sittingbourne will be holding their annual Candle Lighting Remembrance Service at St Michaels, High St. All are welcome to join us to remember their loved ones who are no longer with us and there will be a collection to support Porchlight and their work with people who are homeless.

Sunday 9th December
B2R Santa Run
10:30 - 12:30 Beginners2Runners fantastic Santa Run is back for its fourth year. We have moved to Milton Creek Country Park in Sittingbourne due to the popularity of the event. Super christmassy fun for the whole family. Our lovely route will consist of two laps so the little ones can either stop on the first lap or continue around for a second lap.

Christmas Family Fun Day
11:00 - 16:00 Come along for a fun and festive family day at the wonderful Holiday Inn Sittingbourne. Meet Santa and his elf. Watch lots of entertainment from local groups. We will have some special characters showing up. No Christmas event is complete without a chance to shop so we have a market of stalls including food, crafts gifts and more. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!! We have rides, a bouncy castle, popcorn, candy floss, face painting, glitter tattoo's, raffle, kids games, and even more but we will leave that for you to see. Saving the best to last FREE ENTRY!!

Sunday 16th December

Rustic Christmas Tree Making Session
10:00 - 12:00 Milton Creek County Park is going to be holding a Christmas tree making session. Materials found in the park will be used to make the creations. Adult help will be needed as hand drills are going to be used. Arrive wrapped up nice and warm for the outside work

Steam Railway Santa Specials

Every Saturday and Sunday from 1st to 22nd of December

Trains will depart from Sittingbourne Viaduct station at 11am, 12pm, 2pm & 3pm. The fare includes the roundtrip from Sittingbourne Viaduct station, departing on the hour, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete your ticket and voucher collection.

After the 15 minute journey to Kemsley Down, Father Christmas leads passengers to the Footplate Café where adults receive their seasonal refreshments and children visit Santa’s Grotto. One adult must accompany a child visiting Santa – the child will be able to choose a gift from a selection of quality toys.

There will be some time afterwards to venture out and look around Kemsley Down where we have a shop, museum and garden railway. The train will return to Sittingbourne Viaduct station to complete the entire trip within two hours.
