Two Swale Councillors are set to emulate the stars of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing when they take part in a Wisdom Hospice dance spectacular called Strictly Dance.

Milton Ward Councillors Angelica Valls and Tony Winckless are already in training for the event that takes place on June 29 at the Glass box Theatre at Mid Kent College.

The event is organised by Jane Morgan, Community Events organiser for Wisdom and all the intrepid participants are doing it to raise funding for the hospice.

Cllr Valls is a strong supporter of the Hospice. Her father Miklos Szumjas died last September of bladder cancer after a five year fight.

Dress for the event will be formal, and Angelica and Tony are expecting many supporters to be there, including members of the local Labour Party.

Neither of the Councillors have much experience of dancing the waltz and cha cha cha, but they are reported to be making progress.

Tony Winckless said
"I am very pleased to be helping this cause but I did need to check with Angie that she really wanted me to be her partner. We work well together as ward Councillors but exhibition dancing will be a challenge.”

Sponsorship links are available through Angelica’s Facebook page, but paper sponsorship forms are also available.
