Francesca Bandalac who attends Regis Manor Primary School, became the first winner of the new Sittingbourne in Bloom Design a Flower Bed Competition.

This competition replaces the previous design a roundabout competition which has for many years seen very attractive displays on the roundabout in front of the train station. However the roundabout is due to disappear when the road system is altered to make way for the new development planned in the area in front of the station and Forum Car Park.

On Thursday afternoon Francesca, accompanied by her mother popped along to see first-hand her floral display which has been lovingly recreated by Blenwoods, the Council’s landscape contractor.

Francesca who managed to beat off competition from hundreds of other pupils attending Sittingbourne junior schools.
