There was certainly no shortage of activities on offer at today’s Borden Village Fete with a Punch and Judy Show, balloon racing, a treasure hunt and dog show for starters.

And if that wasn’t enough you could get close up with a variety of farm animals curtesy of Westlands School Young Farmers Club, which had sheep, goats, chickens and cows on display.

Phil from Medway Model Flying Club was demonstrating a range of model aircraft and some expensive looking drones of all sizes.

Also a special sports day races for all ages, steam engines, a fire engine and the usual array of local produce, cakes, coconut shy, bowling-for-a-pig, buzz wire game, hook-the-duck, maggot racing and soft archery which I failed at rather badly.

The event culminated with performances from Harry Evans and Loose Change.
