Love Food, Hate Waste

Today The Swallows Leisure Centre car park was host to an event in support of the 'Love Food and Hate Waste' campaign.
Award winning writer, cook book author and TV chef presenter Richard fox was on hand to provide cooking demonstrations and free samples as well as providing general advice on reducing waste, planning meals and portions, storing food properly, and using leftovers.
All present, these lovely ladies were demonstrating the use of our new Food Recycling bins.
For those that didn't manage to make it along to one of the Waste less food Roadshows, Allison from Biffa Municipal provides a very quick overview of what you can and cannot do with these bins.
The council's weekly food waste collections begin on the week starting the 7th April and will be on the same day as your main waste collection. So for those that already have the bins please don't put them out before this date.
