ICONYX Tattoo owner is overjoyed with winning her category at this year's Kent Women in Business awards after the shop saw impressive growth over the last year.
On Friday 8th of March 2024, Mel attended the Kent Women in Business Awards, hosted in the Ashford International Hotel with over 300 attendees. This event celebrated all the finalists who were shortlisted for the various categories. Out of 10 finalists Mel was called up onto stage as the Winner in the Creative Business of the Year category.
All the staff in the shop are so proud of Mel's accomplishment. Shop manager Gordon stated, “It’s clear to see how hard Mel works, both as the shop owner and the lead tattoo artist in the shop. Not only is the business running well, but also the tattoos she is producing daily are simply extraordinary. The competition was strong across the creative business category, she worked hard for this award.”
Mel has run a tattoo shop in Milton Highstreet for the last 6 years. Originally called Mel’s Tattoo Studio, but with the move to larger premises and a growing complement of staff, she rebranded to ICONYX Tattoo just over 2 years ago.
ICONYX Tattoo, with 4 artists working throughout the week offer a wide variety of tattoo styles, covering everything from modern and trendy fine-line tattoos to more traditional style pieces. Mel’s specialism of Black and Grey realism is a popular reason for people to visit the shop. The artists regularly custom-create designs to make each piece perfect for the customer’s needs.
