Hundreds of runners turn out for second Colour Me Purple 5K fun run.
Milton Creek Country Park, bathed in glorious sun shine, although still a bit nippy staged one of its more colourful events yesterday morning when 630 runners and hundreds more family members arrived for the second ever ‘Colour Me Purple’ fun run in aid of Wisdom Hospice.
This was a very well organised event with the support of local businesses who kindly gave up their car parks and of course the Friends of Milton Creek Country Park for hosting the event. And boy it needed to be because honestly I’ve never seen so many people at the Country Park before.
You could definitely sense the fun element of the event, with many family groups and all ages of people taking part including some very young children.
Speaking with a spokesperson from the Friends of the Wisdom Hospice it is hoped that the event will generate at least the same, if not more, than it did last year which raised £20,000.
Very enjoyable day which managed to add a nice shade of pink colouring to my hair.
