On first arrival the Christmas Fair which is located along the full length of Sittingbourne High Street today initially looked a bit more fun fair than Christmas Fair, but if you elect to wonder down to the bottom half of the high street there are some very nice stores to be found.

Today's proceedings began with the mayor of Swale, Sue Gent who officially open the event, along with William Chenery who was helping to draw tickets.
A highlight for younger readers would be a visit to see Father Christmas in the pART project shop in the forum and support the Sittingbourne Lights Association who's many elves you will find working very hard.

We also must say a big thank you to all the volunteers from the Sittingbourne Lights Association whom without there would be no Christmas fair or Christmas lights.
Pictured above are Jack Newman and Helen Read who were raising much need funds for the Sittingbourne Lights Association.
Don't forget Santa's Parade at 3:15pm followed by the lights on at 4:00pm.
