Sittingbourne Society presents awards to local businesses
The Sittingbourne Society held its Annual General and Presentation evening in the Phoenix Centre on Monday 11th February.
The Society’s Rose Bowl was presented to Mr S Reynolds of A.E.Barrow and Sons Ltd, the bakers, who have been trading at 38a High Street since 1931. Their fine baking and confectionery products are still much appreciated by their many customers.
A cheque for £50 was also presented to the Sittingbourne Carnival Committee’s Chairperson, Liz Swan, to help defray the cost of organising the Committee’s activities in the coming year.
The formalities were followed by an open discussion on planning and other matters affecting the town.
The Sittingbourne Society founded in 1977 to keep a watchful eye on developments and campaign for improvements in and around Sittingbourne.
