Swale Foodbank needs support more than ever
With the coronavirus pandemic contributing to an 81% increase in demand for foodbanks, support for these organisations is more important than ever. In response to this, Kent-based property developer, Quinn Estates has donated £2000 to Swale Food Bank.
Part of a nationwide network of foodbanks and supported by The Trussell Trust, Swale Foodbank acts as a much-needed lifeline - providing food and toiletries for those who find themselves in need in the local area.
The coronavirus outbreak has meant a scaled back operation, with a team of 12 volunteers now on call to help.
As people face economic uncertainty and visits to the shops limited by social distancing measures, food donations have also dropped. This means that the money that Quinn Estates has donated will go towards buying food to restock the foodbank.
