Sittingbourne in Bloom scoops gold award in the large town category for a third year in a row. Friday 13th proved to be a lucky day for hard working local volunteer gardeners, as they were recognised and rewarded at the RHS South, South East in Bloom Awards.
Lowest paid staff at Swale Borough Council are set to have their pay reflect the real cost of living this month. Following a decision made by the council’s cabinet in July, the 22 staff earning less than the real living wage will receive their new increased pay this month.
Swale council wants to know if people would support area committees in different parts of the borough. The council is currently looking at ways to spread power among councillors and improve public engagement in decision-making.
Sittingbourne’s new 317 space multi-storey car park is now open for drivers visiting the town.
Finally, we're moving on with the last phase of roadworks associated with the Spirit of Sittingbourne development in the town centre. It’s been a long time coming for a series of roadworks which started on 24th July 2017 and were anticipated to be completed by September 2018.
