From a Sittingbourne perspective, half of what was previously part of the Sittingbourne and Sheppey constituency has now been incorporated into the Faversham and Mid Kent constituency due to shifts in the electorate population.
On the 23rd May, local councillors from Swale visited 1st Meadowfield Scout group to see the impact of the SEND provision and Scouts in Swale. Cllr Tim Gibson, Leader of the Council and Cllr Karen Watson both showed their support to the Scouts at the district campsite which “the young people have thrived at”.
This weekend, Faversham will celebrate 1,000 years of trading and producing with a grand Millennium Market on Sunday the 26 May.
Every year Swale Borough Council asks the public to nominate residents who work tirelessly to better their communities, with the mayor and judging panel honouring them with awards.
The council has teamed up with Southeastern Rail and The Light Cinema to offer support in two locations in Sittingbourne on 16 May as part of its mental health awareness week of action.
