Bapchild
Bapchild is a relatively small parish which you will find just to the east of Sittingbourne on the A2. Much of the current properties are located on the South side of the A2 and in total there are approximately 450 houses and a population of 1,068 according to the 2001 census.
Bapchild has a thriving village community and an active Parish Council, but lies at something of a political crossroads in terms of the aspirations of the Borough Council verses those of the local community and Parish Council.
The Borough Council has substantial plans for two significant road infrastructure projects, the Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road and the Sittingbourne Southern Relief Road which would physically dissect the parish north to south. In addition there is an allocation of land, known as Stones Farm which will see some 650 new houses being built on the north side of the village adjacent to the Fox and Goose Public House within the next 20 years.
